Single Platform BioRefining

THE WORLD'S FIRST BIOREFINERY  PLAYING TIME (4:10)

The seeds of today's cellulosic fuels revolution were first sown in Hawaii in 1984 when Jim McElvaney, SVP of ProterraBio, built the world's first large-scale BioRefinery. The integrated BioRefinery called the BioConverter evolved over the next 15 years into the premier BioConversion system much admired and emulated but never copied. The BioConverter clearly demonstrated that local wastes could be converted into valuable fuel, feed and fertilizer.

The following video presentation introduces the functioning system and its evolution over the years; in all its diversity and scope and shows how we arrived at the single, most integrated BioRefinery platform available.

.

The BioConverter's history is extensive and well-tested by thorough development and proof in the marketplace. The following timeline provides more detail on the key dates and information of the system's implementation and growth.
