Single Platform BioRefining

HOW THE BIOCONVERTER WORKS   PLAYING TIME (0:37)

The basics of the BioConverter's operation is illustrated in the video below. A slurry of waste made of up of heterogenous, small-size organic wastes is pumped into the top of the BioConverter tank so that it evenly flows over biofilm plates set up as a dense matrix around the center of the tank.

Over time, the biofilm grows the organism population to become highly active; able to handle up to 12% of solids in the slurry. The organisms in the BioConverter then convert the slurried material into biogas, liquid fuel, fertilizer and feed very rapidly...

HOW THE BIOCONVERTER IS BUILT    PLAYING TIME (1:47)

The BioConverter design is patented and has proprietary elements but the following video details the basic components. First, a concrete base is built which acts as the foundation of the unit. Next, a series of heat exchange tubes are placed inside the BioConverter to maintain temperature. Then, a matrix support structure is constructed to hold biofilm plates where a dense system of organisms grow. Each matrix section is then stacked one on the other with the entire system built up in sections of matrices of between 6 and 8 feet to a total of 72 feet in height.
